Nurses Notes

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Let’s work together to have a healthy year.  Hand washing is the most important way to decrease the spread of illness.  Please remind your child to wash hands frequently and thoroughly and to cough and sneeze into their sleeve instead of their hands.  Please reinforce to your child the importance of not putting their hands in their mouth, eyes, and  nose.

Children will be sent home from school for the following medical reasons:

  • Fever of 100* or greater
  • Rash of unknown origin
  • Suspected conjunctivitis “pink eye”
  • Vomiting
  • Uncontrollable diarrhea

Children should not be sent to school if any of the following conditions exist (without medication):

  • Fever in the past 24 hours
  • Vomiting in the past 24 hours
  • Diarrhea in the past 24 hours
